Lipo-C is a compounded lipotropic injection typically combining methionine, inositol, choline (MIC), and vitamin B12, used off-label for fat-metabolism and weight-management support. It is not an FDA-approved drug for weight loss.
Dosing Reference
Reconstitution
Add 5 mL bacteriostatic water to the 25 mg vial. Resulting concentration: 5 mg/mL.
| Dose | Syringe Units | mL Volume | Schedule |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 mg | 500 units | 5 mL | SubQ, 1–2x weeklyCommunity lipotropic protocol |
| 50 mg | 1000 units | 10 mL | SubQ, 1–2x weeklyCommunity higher dose |
Math assumes U-100 insulin syringes (1 mL = 100 units). Verify your syringe matches before use. Round half-units to the nearest visible mark.
Reconstitution
Lipo-C (lipotropic MIC combination) is a compounded injectable combination of methionine, inositol, choline (MIC), often with added B vitamins (B6, B12) and/or L-carnitine. It is sold as a pre-mixed solution or lyophilized vial. It is not FDA-approved.
For a compounded 25 mg (MIC) vial reconstituted with 5 mL, the concentration is 5 mg/mL; a 25 mg dose draws to 50 units (0.5 mL) on a U-100 syringe. Store per compounding pharmacy directions; compounded forms are not FDA-approved.
Cycling Protocol
Community protocols describe Lipo-C injected 1–2 times per week for 4–8 weeks, sometimes continued longer with lifestyle support. No standardized cycle is established; Lipo-C is not FDA-approved and durations are community extrapolation.
Routes of Administration
Subcutaneous injection (community): Into the abdomen.
No oral route is established for the injectable form (oral lipotropics exist separately). Lipo-C (injectable) is not FDA-approved.
Stacking Protocols
| Stack | Components | Purpose | | --- | --- | --- | | Weight-loss support | Lipo-C + GLP-1 agonist | Community combined lipotropic protocol (not established) | | Energy Stack | Lipo-C + B12 | Community energy/lipotropic combination |
Lipo-C is a compounded combination; its components (methionine, inositol, choline) are dietary nutrients. The injectable combination is not FDA-approved.
Side Effects & Safety
- Injection-site reactions — redness, pain, bruising (common)
- GI upset, nausea — occasionally reported
- Fishy body odor — possible (choline component)
- Allergic reactions — rare
- No FDA safety review — Lipo-C is compounded and not FDA-approved
Lipo-C (injectable) is a compounded product, not FDA-approved. The individual nutrients are dietary components; the injectable combination has not been FDA-reviewed for safety or efficacy.
Research Basis
Lipo-C is a compounded injectable lipotropic combination, typically containing methionine, inositol, and choline (MIC), often with B vitamins and/or L-carnitine.
Mechanism: Lipotropic nutrients support hepatic fat metabolism (methionine, choline) and fat transport/oxidation (carnitine); the combination is marketed for weight-loss support.
Clinical evidence: No robust FDA-reviewed trials; evidence is largely from compounding-pharmacy and integrative-medicine literature. The individual nutrients are dietary components; the injectable combination is not FDA-approved.
Compounded, not FDA-approved. Sold by compounding pharmacies; not FDA-reviewed for safety or efficacy.
