HGH (Somatropin, 191aa)

Somatropin is recombinant human growth hormone (191 amino acids) FDA-approved for growth hormone deficiency and certain conditions; '191aa' denotes the full-length sequence identical to native HGH. Non-prescription use for enhancement is not approved and carries significant risks.

Math assumes U-100 insulin syringes (1 mL = 100 units). Verify your syringe matches before use. Round half-units to the nearest visible mark.

Reconstitution

Somatropin (recombinant human growth hormone, 191 amino acids) is FDA-approved for pediatric growth hormone deficiency, adult GHD, Turner syndrome, Prader-Willi, SGA, ISS, and wasting syndromes (Genotropin, Humatrope, Norditropin, Omnitrope, Saizen, Zomacton). It is supplied as a lyophilized vial or pre-filled pen reconstituted per manufacturer directions to a fixed concentration (typically 1, 2, 5, or 10 mg/mL). Compounded research-peptide forms are not FDA-approved.

For a 5 mg vial reconstituted with 5 mL, the concentration is 1 mg/mL; a 1 mg dose draws to 100 units (1 mL) on a U-100 syringe. For a 10 mg vial reconstituted with 10 mL, the concentration is 1 mg/mL; a 1 mg dose draws to 100 units (1 mL). Gently swirl — do not shake — and store refrigerated. Compounded forms are not FDA-approved.

Cycling Protocol

FDA-approved somatropin is dosed daily (or weekly for some long-acting formulations) as chronic therapy for the indicated condition; dosing is individualized by weight/indication. No fixed cycle end; used long-term under endocrinology supervision.

Routes of Administration

Subcutaneous injection (primary FDA-approved route): Once daily into the abdomen, thigh, or buttock; rotate sites.

No oral route is established (peptide). Compounded forms are not FDA-approved.

Stacking Protocols

| Stack | Components | Purpose | | --- | --- | --- | | GHD replacement | Somatropin + endocrinology monitoring | Standard FDA-approved GHD protocol | | Bodybuilding (off-label, not established) | Somatropin + insulin / AAS | Community anabolism stack (not FDA-approved, significant risk) |

Off-label somatropin use for bodybuilding/anti-aging is not FDA-approved and carries significant risk. Compounded forms are not FDA-approved.

Side Effects & Safety

  • Injection-site reactions — common
  • Fluid retention, edema — common
  • Arthralgia, myalgia — common
  • Headache — common
  • Insulin resistance / hyperglycemia — risk, monitor glucose
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome — possible
  • Intracranial hypertension — rare; report severe headache/vision changes
  • Lipodystrophy at injection sites — rotate sites

Somatropin is FDA-approved for specific indications under endocrinology supervision. Off-label use (bodybuilding/anti-aging) is not FDA-approved and carries significant risk. Compounded research-peptide forms are not FDA-approved.

Research Basis

Somatropin is recombinant human growth hormone (191 amino acids, identical to endogenous hGH), FDA-approved (multiple brands).

Mechanism: Binds the growth hormone receptor to stimulate IGF-1 production and direct metabolic effects — linear growth, protein anabolism, lipolysis, and carbohydrate metabolism.

Clinical evidence: FDA-approved for pediatric growth hormone deficiency and multiple growth disorders, adult GHD, Turner syndrome, Prader-Willi, SGA, ISS, and wasting syndromes (HIV). Extensive clinical experience.

FDA-approved for the indications above under endocrinology supervision. Off-label use (bodybuilding/anti-aging) is not FDA-approved. Compounded research-peptide forms are not FDA-approved.
