Hexarelin is a synthetic growth hormone secretagogue with potent GH-releasing activity studied in research settings. It is not FDA approved.
Dosing Reference
Reconstitution
Add 2.5 mL bacteriostatic water to the 5 mg vial. Resulting concentration: 2 mg/mL.
| Dose | Syringe Units | mL Volume | Schedule |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 mcg | 5 units | 0.05 mL | SubQ, 1–2x dailyCommon community protocol |
| 200 mcg | 10 units | 0.1 mL | SubQ, 1–2x dailyHigher community protocol |
Math assumes U-100 insulin syringes (1 mL = 100 units). Verify your syringe matches before use. Round half-units to the nearest visible mark.
Reconstitution
Hexarelin is a synthetic growth hormone secretagogue (ghrelin mimetic, hexapeptide) sold as a compounded research peptide in 5 mg or 10 mg vials. It is not FDA-approved.
For a 5 mg vial reconstituted with 2.5 mL, the concentration is 2 mg/mL; a 100 mcg dose draws to 5 units (0.05 mL) on a U-100 syringe. For a 10 mg vial reconstituted with 5 mL, the concentration is 2 mg/mL; a 100 mcg dose draws to 5 units (0.05 mL). Gently swirl — do not shake — and store refrigerated.
Cycling Protocol
Community protocols commonly describe hexarelin dosed 1–2 times daily for 4–8 weeks, followed by an off period. No standardized cycle is established; hexarelin is not FDA-approved and durations are community extrapolation.
Routes of Administration
Subcutaneous injection (most common): Into the abdomen or thigh with a 29–31 gauge insulin syringe.
No established IV route. Hexarelin is not FDA-approved.
Stacking Protocols
| Stack | Components | Purpose | | --- | --- | --- | | GHRH + GHRP | Hexarelin + Sermorelin / CJC-1295 | Combined GH secretagogue pulse (community) | | Cardiac Stack | Hexarelin (alone) | Studied for cardiac protective effects (preclinical) |
Hexarelin is noted for cardiac receptor effects (CD36) in preclinical research. Stacking combinations are community extrapolation. Hexarelin is not FDA-approved.
Side Effects & Safety
- Injection-site reactions — redness, pain
- Flushing, warmth — common transient effect
- Headache, dizziness — occasionally reported
- Cortisol / prolactin elevation — possible at higher doses (GHRP class effect)
- Increased appetite — ghrelin-mimetic (less than GHRP-6)
Hexarelin is not FDA-approved. Compounded research-peptide forms are sold for research purposes only.
Research Basis
Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide growth hormone secretagogue (ghrelin mimetic) closely related to GHRP-6, with a methylated tryptophan for added stability.
Mechanism: Agonizes the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) to stimulate endogenous GH release, and also interacts with the CD36 receptor, which underlies preclinical interest in cardiac effects.
Clinical evidence: Studied in early research as a GH secretagogue with possible cardiac-protective effects; not FDA-approved for any indication. Compounded forms are sold for research purposes only.
Not FDA-approved. Compounded research-peptide forms are sold for research purposes only.
