Gonadorelin
GnRH analog for LH/FSH support — TRT, fertility & PCT research protocols
Research & educational purposes only. BioMaxFit does not sell, promote, or represent peptides in any way. We are strictly educational and recommend working with your doctor on anything health-related. The information below comes from published research and documents what has been studied, not what should be done. Many of these compounds are investigational and not approved by the FDA; possession or use outside an authorized clinical trial may be illegal in your jurisdiction. This is not medical advice.

Gonadorelin is a synthetic form of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) — the endogenous hypothalamic peptide that signals the pituitary to release luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). It is used in research settings to support the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis during exogenous hormone use, and in fertility and post-cycle therapy (PCT) contexts.
Important dose-unit clarification: Gonadorelin is dosed in micrograms (mcg), not milligrams. A "20mg" label refers to the vial size (20mg of lyophilized powder), not a single dose. A full 20mg administered at once would be roughly 40–200× the researched dose range and risks GnRH-receptor desensitization, which paradoxically suppresses LH/FSH.
The content below is compiled from published clinical labeling and community research protocols.
⚠️ Research & educational purposes only. Gonadorelin is not FDA-approved for these research protocols, human safety data at community doses is limited, and this is not medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before beginning any protocol.
Side Effects & Safety
- Injection-site irritation — mild, transient
- GnRH-receptor desensitization — the primary risk; caused by continuous or too-frequent dosing, leading to paradoxical suppression of LH/FSH. Managed with pulsatile scheduling and scheduled breaks.
- Headache / flushing — occasional report
- Hormonal fluctuation effects — mood changes, libido fluctuation, acne, related to downstream testosterone/estrogen shifts
- No long-term human safety data at community research doses
Contraindications / cautions: Pregnancy, breastfeeding, hormone-sensitive cancers, pituitary adenoma. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before beginning any protocol.
Research Basis
Gonadorelin is the synthetic form of endogenous GnRH, whose pulsatile hypothalamic release governs the HPG axis. The dosing principles above are grounded in two bodies of evidence:
FDA clinical labeling (Factrel / gonadorelin acetate):
- Diagnostic stimulation test: 100mcg single SC/IV bolus, with serial LH/FSH measurement.
- Pulsatile therapy (hypogonadotropic hypogonadism): 5–20mcg per pulse every 90 minutes via infusion pump (range 1–20mcg), for 21+ days — confirming that the "20" figure in gonadorelin dosing is mcg per pulse, not mg.
Community research protocols (compiled from peptide-protocol references):
- TRT support: 250mcg SC twice weekly.
- Conservative starter: 100mcg 2–3x/week.
- Fertility / PCT: 500mcg 3x/week for 8–12 weeks.
The critical pharmacological principle — that pulsatile delivery is required to preserve receptor sensitivity while continuous delivery causes downregulation — is well established in GnRH physiology and underpins the intermittent scheduling in every protocol above.
