GHRP-6 is a research growth hormone secretagogue that stimulates growth hormone release and is known to increase appetite. It is not FDA approved for these uses.
Dosing Reference
Reconstitution
Add 2.5 mL bacteriostatic water to the 5 mg vial. Resulting concentration: 2 mg/mL.
| Dose | Syringe Units | mL Volume | Schedule |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 mcg | 5 units | 0.05 mL | SubQ, 1–3x dailyCommon community protocol |
| 150 mcg | 7.5 units | 0.07 mL | SubQ, 1–3x dailyCommon community protocol |
| 300 mcg | 15 units | 0.15 mL | SubQ, 1–3x dailyHigher community protocol |
Math assumes U-100 insulin syringes (1 mL = 100 units). Verify your syringe matches before use. Round half-units to the nearest visible mark.
Reconstitution
GHRP-6 is a synthetic growth hormone secretagogue (ghrelin mimetic) sold as a compounded research peptide in 5 mg or 10 mg vials. It is not FDA-approved.
For a 5 mg vial reconstituted with 2.5 mL, the concentration is 2 mg/mL; a 100 mcg dose draws to 5 units (0.05 mL) on a U-100 syringe. For a 10 mg vial reconstituted with 5 mL, the concentration is 2 mg/mL; a 100 mcg dose draws to 5 units (0.05 mL). Gently swirl — do not shake — and store refrigerated.
Cycling Protocol
Community protocols commonly describe GHRP-6 dosed 1–3 times daily for 4–12 weeks, followed by an off period. No standardized cycle is established; GHRP-6 is not FDA-approved and durations are community extrapolation.
Routes of Administration
Subcutaneous injection (most common): Into the abdomen or thigh with a 29–31 gauge insulin syringe.
No established IV route. GHRP-6 is not FDA-approved.
Stacking Protocols
| Stack | Components | Purpose | | --- | --- | --- | | GHRH + GHRP | GHRP-6 + Sermorelin / CJC-1295 | Combined GH secretagogue pulse (community) | | Appetite/Bulk Stack | GHRP-6 + insulin (community) | Appetite + anabolism (community, not established) |
GHRP-6 notably stimulates appetite (ghrelin-mimetic). Stacking combinations are community extrapolation. GHRP-6 is not FDA-approved.
Side Effects & Safety
- Increased appetite / hunger — hallmark ghrelin-mimetic effect
- Injection-site reactions — redness, pain
- Flushing, warmth — common transient effect
- Headache, dizziness — occasionally reported
- Cortisol / prolactin elevation — possible at higher doses (GHRP class effect)
- Water retention — occasionally reported
GHRP-6 is not FDA-approved. Compounded research-peptide forms are sold for research purposes only.
Research Basis
GHRP-6 is a synthetic hexapeptide growth hormone secretagogue that acts as a ghrelin mimetic at the GHS-R1a receptor.
Mechanism: Agonizes the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) in the pituitary and hypothalamus, stimulating pulsatile endogenous growth hormone release (and downstream IGF-1), and stimulating appetite via ghrelin-mimetic action.
Clinical evidence: Studied in early research as a GH secretagogue; not FDA-approved for any indication. Compounded forms are sold for research purposes only.
Not FDA-approved. Compounded research-peptide forms are sold for research purposes only.
